Do you offer month-to-month leases?
At Metro Self Storage, we believe that you should be able to create the self storage experience that works best for you. That’s why we offer month-to-month leasing options designed to work with your unique situation. Rent self storage for as long or as little as you need to.
What items can I not store in my storage unit?
Even though we want to make sure you always have a place for your belongings, there are a few things that are prohibited at Metro Self Storage. Do not store perishable food items, toxic materials, or anything that is flammable. This includes food, fireworks, firearms, and toxic liquids.
How do I pay for my storage unit?
Paying your monthly bill is easy and efficient with the help of online bill pay from Metro Self Storage. Simply log in to your account each month and follow the instructions from there. You can even sign up for autopay to make paying your bill even easier.

What is climate-controlled storage?
For items that may be especially sensitive to extreme weather conditions, climate-controlled storage is the answer. These units remain within a consistent range of temperature throughout the entire year to help certain items fight off damage from warping, tearing, cracking, and fading. No matter how hot or cold it is outside, your items will be kept in a consistent environment with climate-controlled storage.
What can I store in a climate-controlled unit?
While there aren’t any items that shouldn’t be stored in a climate-controlled unit, there are a few that definitely should in order to give them a better chance of survival. These items include:
- Furniture made of wood or leather
- Kitchen appliances
- Electronics
- Clothing made of leather or lace
- Musical instruments
- Metal sports equipment
- Paper documents such as newspapers or books.
Do you offer vehicle storage at Metro Self Storage?
We do offer vehicle storage at select locations. When you have too many vehicles in your garage or own a vehicle that isn’t in use all year round, we can help. Each facility that offers this convenient feature has parking spaces available for cars, trucks, trailers, ATVs, Jet Skis, motorcycles, and more.
Do you offer boat and RV storage?
In addition to helping you store small vehicles, select locations can also give you the space you need for boat and RV storage. A combination of spacious parking spots and wide drive aisles allows you to easily maneuver your large recreational vehicle in and out of our facilities. Rent RV and boat storage just for the season or throughout the entire year at Metro Self Storage.
What is drive-up access?
When you choose a drive-up storage unit, you will be able to drive straight to your storage unit and park right out front to unload items directly from your vehicle. Save time and energy on move-in day and each time you access your storage unit with drive-up access.
Can I rent a moving truck from Metro Self Storage?
We partner with Penske and U-Haul at select locations to provide you with moving truck rentals for your belongings. Contact the location closest to you to find out how to take advantage of this convenient feature today.
Do you provide any moving and packing supplies?
Yes, we do. If you forget boxes, tape, bubble wrap, furniture covers, or other moving supplies, we will have them available for purchase in our main office at each Metro Self Storage location.

Do you provide gated access?
Yes, we do. With gated access, you will not be able to enter our building without a unique PIN meaning you are able to control who has access to your belongings.
Do you require tenants to have storage insurance?
Each of our tenants is required to have insurance for their storage unit to cover unexpected damage such as theft, water damage, and unexpected weather. However, we do offer self storage insurance at each of our facilities to make it easier for you to gain access to high-quality insurance for your belongings.
What is the difference between access hours and office hours?
Office hours are when our main office is open and a storage manager is on-site to answer questions and help you with your storage unit. Access hours are the times in which you are able to access your storage unit with your unique PIN but an on-site storage expert is not present.
